Pour le site c'est simple.
Tu vas dans "gallary" pour avoir les galeries par BJD. Tu cliques sur la mignature et zou, tu as pleins de photos, sur plusieurs pages.
La galerie tout en bas, qui s'apelle "working gallary" permet de voir l'avancement du travail de An, le sculpteur.

Pour connaitre les prix et commander, c'est aussi assez simple.
Tu vas dans "order" et tu cliques en haut sur "english order board"
Tu arrives donc sur la page de commande, mais en anglais.

Là, tu cliques sur la tête de la BJD que tu veux commander.
Tu arrives donc sur la même page, mais en dessous du tableau apparaissent toutes les informations sur la BJD en question
Prix, mensurations, quelques photos, etc...

Et pour passer commandes.
Sur l'english order board, en haut à droite, tu as de petites lettres : L J F
Tu cliques sur J (Join) et tu crées un compte.
Puis tu te connectes, et tu retournes sur le board. En bas à droite tu cliques sur "write" et tu écris un message à l'artiste en lui expliquant ce que tu aimerais commander".

Voilà ^^
C'est pas bien compliqué au final mais c'est vrai que le site aurait pu être plus clair :/

C'est vraiment génial de voir le site reprendre vie après tout ce temps d'attente ...

Je suis super excitée à l'idée de voir ce site reprendre vie ! j'ai une séola que j'aime beaucoup et je suis vraiment fan de son corps ! Je découvre les nouveaux modèles avec enfin le maquillage et je craque pour Arin ! Sia est aussi très belle mais ressemble trop à Séola, j'ai hate de découvir d'autres photos !

C'est horrible, je passe au moins 10 fois par jour sur le site pour voir s'il y a du nouveau ^^

Pour les anglophobes :
J'ai demandé si à la sortie des nouveaux corps 15 ans, on aurait le choix entre les deux versions "grosses miches de vraie nana" ou "petits nénés immatures" comme on a pu le voir dans la galerie de travail, car ce n'est actuellement pas précisé comme option dans la description du corps 15ans.
Et a priori donc, il n'y aura qu'une seule version, la "grosses miches", l'autre sera peut-être disponible l'année prochaine, mais il n'y a pas encore vraiment réfléchi.

M'en fous, je veux une version "grosses miches" ^^

Moi aussi je passe des plombes à baver sur les photos, c'est un régal ces sculpts. Mais bon, je me fais une raison, j'aurais jamais les moyens de me payer un corps à 700$.

Euh, les corps sont un peu moins chers que ça... Pour les 15 girls, tu as la doll complète pour 720$. (enfin complète... tête + corps quoi)
C'est sûr que c'est encore cher, mais ça les vaut tellement ! (dit la fille qui il y a 4 mois a rechigné à sortir 250€ pour une min del re >_<)

Je ne suis pas encore sûre d'avoir assez d'économies direct à leur sortie (les gens qui me doivent des sous, remboursez moi ! T_T), mais vu qu'il devrait maintenant y avoir une production continue, j'espère bien avoir mon Asphodèle très bientôt !

Gros pavé de news concernant l'explication du choix de faire la production de ses dolls chez Dollshe. Par contre, je traduis pas, c'est trop long, désolée. Si certains sont vraiment anglophobes et veulent un résumé, je ferai ptetre un petit effort ^^

We are also planning to push ahead and have the 15Boy and Elf ready for sale by late February or early March. All of these projects came to fruition because of my decision to abandon my plan to reproduce the dolls myself and outsource the reproduction phase to DollShe craft.

Many of you know that I have spent the past year making preparations to undertake the reproductions on my own. There are valid reasons why I decided to abandon this plan and turn to DollShe craft. I would like to offer my explanations here.



There are several reasons why I first decided to reproduce the dolls on my own.

First, I wanted to raise our reproduction capacity and enhance the efficiency of our inventory management.
As you may know, it took an average of 2 months to reproduce 20 bodies. The bigger dolls took even longer. It came to a point where I was doubtful whether reproducing the 15Boys was even possible. Dollstown has 7 types in just bodies alone when girl and boy bodies are categorized separately. This means that it takes over a year just to reproduce each of them once. In other words, when a certain body type is sold out, customers must wait a whole year for me to restock. I wanted to more efficiently and systematically manage the entire reproduction process, from managing the molds to every phase of reproduction.

Second, I wanted to reduce the amount of touch-up work, including gate treatments and the sanding of parting lines.
The unevenness of the parting lines, depending on the order the urethane resin is poured in, used to vary greatly. Therefore, we spent a lot of time evening out the body surface before we put the dolls up for sale; We worked very hard on this end.
Furthermore, for the sake of convenience in reproduction, the gates were completely sealed when the casts were set. Therefore, each gate had to be reopened after reproduction, which was quite laborious. This was something I had to do. In reopening the gates in this manner, there were inconsistencies in how each of the gates came out. Also, as the gates were not consistent in shape, it was also difficult to string the elastic through them. For some ordinary owners who did not possess the special know-how, cording the elastic was not always easy. I wanted to improve the silicon molds or devise a more stringent management system to lessen such complications.

Third, I wanted to make the texture and color of the urethane resin more consistent.
Examining the dolls that had been sold, I could see that there were inconsistencies in the surface texture and skin colors. In part, this was due to the reproduction center’s experimentation with various domestic urethane resins in their quest to find the best possible material. Because the reproduction center was using urethane resin from a different supplier every time, the colors also had to be mixed differently each time. Furthermore, because they were using the naked eye to come up with the skin colors, color variations were inevitable. Finally, another reason for the color inconsistencies derived from fact that even the same urethane company used varying ratios of solvents in their resin from season to season. Hence, my plan was to finally settle on a single type of urethane resin and use it consistently. In addition, a more efficient management system of the color schemes was to be incorporated to minimize color variations.

By early January, I had made good progress on coming up with data related to the color schemes. I was also at a stage whereby if I had just poured in urethane resin, I would have been able to produce the 5 and 7 bodies. What made me bring my efforts to naught and revert back to outsourcing the reproduction process was my trust in DollShe craft.



I would like to offer my explanations regarding my decision to turn to DollShe craft for reproduction.

First, DollShe craft has a high reproduction capacity and an efficient inventory management system.
Mr. DollShe informed us that DollShe craft’s large vacuum casting machine would be able to produce an even greater number of dolls each month than I had expected. Moreover, because urethane resin is actually cast by the reproduction center’s experienced staff, the center can reproduce a set number of dolls every month regardless of Mr. DollShe’s personal schedule. DollShe craft is planning to get an even higher grade vacuum casting machine between April and May, which will raise their reproduction capacity by several folds.

Second, DollShe craft’s reproductions are almost parting-line free and have consistent and clean gates.
I saw that DollShe’s craft’s Saint body had almost invisible parting lines. The parting lines were as inconspicuous as those of the SD13 body I got from Volks. I couldn’t ask for more. I judged that no further work had to be done on the parting lines for our dolls to be ready for sale.
Also, DollShe Craft could make reproductions with the gates left completely open, requiring minimal touch-up work. Because the gates were meticulously treated on the casts, anyone would be able to cord the elastic without much difficulty. As a matter of fact, I even got some tips on how to treat the inside of the gates.

Third, all dolls reproduced by DollShe craft and Dollstown will be made of U.S. Smooth-on urethane resin.
U.S. Smooth-on urethane resin is a solventless type, is almost completely odorless, and has a very low shrinkage rate. The only drawback is that it is about three times more expensive than Korean urethane resin.
So, what is a “solventless type” solvent? Korean urethane resin is produced by mixing undiluted urethane with a diluent such as thinner. This results in a watery mixture easy for reproduction and without many air bubbles. However, because of the added solvent, Korean urethane resin is harmful to humans and emits a foul odor when it is sanded down at a later stage. Moreover, perhaps because of the thinner, the intended form is difficult to realize due to the resin’s high shrinkage rate. And as the color turns yellow, the variations in surface coloration increase.
Currently, there are three types of solventless type urethane resin: U.S. Smooth-on urethane resin, French Axson urethane resin, and Japanese high cast urethane resin. Dollstown has limited access to Japanese urethane resin as Volk’s has monopoly over its distribution and does not seem to be able to accommodate a large demand. The French urethane resin used to be popular as it is non-toxic and produces a translucent skin tone. However, it does have some drawbacks, which is why demand for it is on the decreasing trend. One of its drawbacks is that the surface is so soft that the fingernail alone can create a scratch. Therefore, it is not suitable for creating larger dolls 13 or older. Hence, the highest quality urethane resin that can be used at present is U.S. Smooth-on’s.



We examined the texture of Smooth-on urethane resin with Mr. DollShe’s Saint head.

Perhaps because of Smooth-on urethane resin’s unique characteristics, the surface is not shiny and appears to have a matte finish that disperses the light, resulting in a rich and soft texture. We stuck our nose right up to the resin after sanding but could not smell anything. Even light sanding of Korean urethane resin emits an odor that can be detected a mile away. Moreover, while Smooth-on urethane resin is fundamentally strong, it is comprised of relatively uniform particles allowing for easy sanding, which in turn, enables ordinary doll owners to easily remove parting lines and create an even body surface on their own.
Using Smooth-on urethane resin forces us to increase the price of our dolls. However, I negotiated with DollShe craft so that only the additional cost arising from the use of Smooth-on urethane resin is added on to the reproduction and sales prices. Furthermore, by making the aesthe service optional, customers who do not need this service can actually buy dolls made of a higher quality material at a price similar to the existing price range. I think this is actually a positive development. Removing parting lines can be expensive, but it is something anybody can easily do; therefore, I recommend that customers do the sanding on their own.

Mr. DollShe is a doll designer who runs a reproduction center. Therefore, he was able to help me with all the matters with which I had been struggling for some time, including choosing the right material and doing research on reproduction technologies. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. DollShe once again.

During the course of the phone call, we spoke about reproduction, and the very next day, I visited DollShe craft’s reproduction center in Daejon. DollShe craft is planning to only reproduce dolls made by doll designers who create original, handcrafted sculpts. As demonstrated in the unfortunate piracy incident last year, there is much risk involved in entrusting one’s original sculpt with an outside reproduction center or using sales agents. That is why doll designers have difficulty outsourcing reproduction.

Mr. DollShe himself was also a victim of piracy, so he decided to run his own reproduction center in order to circumvent the problems to which doll designers may be susceptible. I hope for DollShe craft’s continued success so that it can provide support to many more doll designers.
